CHRISTINE E.
DIETZEL is a registered patent
agent with broad experience
in the area of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. In addition to her
experience in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications
and related proceedings before the United States and foreign patent
offices, Dr. Dietzel is well versed in various aspects of intellectual
property management, technology assessment and licensing, including
management of large patent portfolios, negotiating terms and drafting
agreements, marketing and start-ups.
She received her Ph.D. in
molecular biology from Columbia University
and holds a B.A. in biology
from Colgate University. After completing her Ph.D. in 1988, Dr.
Dietzel was a research scientist at Lifecodes Corporation, where she
directed a research laboratory developing antisense and DNA-based
fingerprinting technology. From 1991 to 1993, she was Assistant
Director for Patents and Licenses at the New York Blood Center.
Most recently, Dr. Dietzel was Director of Industrial Liaison and responsible for patents, licensing, commercialization and industry-sponsored research initiatives for New York University, NYU Medical Center and their affiliates. She is a member of the Licensing Executives Society and the Association of University Technology Managers.
