ROBERT S.M. GORMAN has many years of experience, both at a top tier national law firm, and at various in-house positions.

Robert Gorman has significant experience in counseling all types of businesses and individuals, from “start-ups” to large corporations and joint venture consortium, in various legal matters ranging from contracts, immigration, due diligence matters, litigation, licensing, and many other matters relevant to businesses and their owners. Mr. Gorman is also a registered patent attorney, and has helped clients procure and assert all manner of patents, trademarks, and copyrights. Robert Gorman also has real world experience in the art and science of litigation, having been involved in sophisticated litigation against companies such as Hoechst, Samsung, and the Body Shop. Throughout the years, Robert Gorman has worked with many domestic and overseas clients, including companies from Japan, Germany, Korea, and elsewhere.

Mr. Gorman has litigated several cases up to the Federal Circuit level, and has advised on such high profile projects including the creation of the State of New Jersey Nanotechnology Consortium between New Jersey Institute of Technology and Lucent, and has helped create in-house legal operations and technology transfer operations. He has worked for several years as an in-house attorney in both Silicon Valley and New Jersey after having practiced in New York City at the offices of Fulbright & Jaworski, and at Hedman & Costigan. Mr. Gorman received his undergraduate degree in Physics from Rutgers University, his law degree (Juris Doctorate) from the University of Miami, and holds a Masters of Science from the University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Gorman is a member of the Bars of New York and New Jersey, and is admitted to practice before several different federal bars, including the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Mr. Gorman is proficient in conversational level Japanese.

Robert Gorman also serves his country as an Officer in the Judge Advocate Corps (JAG), United States Army Reserve, where he is trained in legal matters involving criminal law, family law, and trust and estates.
